This started out as a History lesson but ended up as a way to show appreciation for the legacy that these men left behind. The native americans gave them their name in describing the toughness and how they battled imitating the strong buffalo. "American Plains Indians who fought against these soldiers referred to the black cavalry troops as "buffalo soldiers" because of their dark, curly hair, which resembled a buffalo's coat and because of their fierce nature of fighting. The nickname soon became synonymous with all African-American regiments formed in 1866." - nps.gov

Some of their achievements even went unnoticed due to racial prejudice and lack of acknowledgement from early historians and leaders.

Currently one of my prints resides in the Buffalo Soldier Musuem in Houston, Tx. For more information and the details of how I made this image join Clutch Fam.

Black Swans

Black swans are a species of waterbird native to Australia. They are distinguished by their black feathers, long necks, and red bills. Black swans are known for their elegance and grace, and they are considered a symbol of beauty and sophistication.

In Western culture, black swans have also been used as a symbol of the unexpected and the unpredictable. This symbolism derives from the fact that black swans were thought to be nonexistent in Europe until they were discovered in Western Australia in the 17th century. This discovery upended the prevailing belief at the time that all swans were white, and it led to the metaphor of the "black swan" as something that was previously thought impossible but turns out to be true.

This metaphor has been applied to various fields, including finance, where black swans are rare and unpredictable events that have a significant impact on the market. In general, black swans are seen as a reminder that the world is full of uncertainties, and that we should always be prepared for the unexpected.
