About Me
My name is John 'Clutch' Coleman
I’m an artist and curator from Houston, Texas, and I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I watched my mom—who was incredibly talented—slowly lose her passion under the weight of real life: family responsibilities, bills, and the daily grind. Seeing that stuck with me. I knew I didn’t want my creativity to fade like that—I wanted to protect it, build it, and turn it into something lasting.
I’m self-taught, and in school I was the kid always sketching—sometimes enough to get in trouble for drawing in class. But in 2013, I made a decision to take art seriously for fun, and by 2015 I was consistently creating both digital and traditional work. Procreate became my main tool and home base, but I’m also pushing myself to level up my skills again—especially with painting, because I want my craft to keep expanding.
Since 2015, I’ve been active in the Houston art scene as a pop-up show artist, showing work across the city and learning what it really takes to build an art career from the ground up. A major turning point for me was meeting my mentor, Franck Mille, who was the first person to help me understand how to navigate the pop-up world with intention. His guidance didn’t just shape my path—it pushed me toward a bigger mission: creating an online space where artists and collectors can connect, build community, and tell their stories outside of social media.
My long-term vision is to open a brick-and-mortar gallery, while also building a digital learning library for creatives of all ages—young and old—so art education and opportunity are accessible, not exclusive. Right now, I’m building that future step-by-step through virtual art shows and by teaching other artists how to use online exhibition spaces to grow, engage real audiences, and create more opportunities.
If you’re a brand looking to partner, an artist looking for a platform, or a collector looking for meaningful work and real connection—let’s talk.
My current motto says it best: “Just make it exist—results are better than nothing.”
